چکیده

Abstract The load-bearing capacities of (i) self-piercing-riveted, (ii) adhesive-bonded and (iii) hybrid riv-bonded lap joints commercial 1.5-mm-thick EN AW-6016-T4 sheets were compared under both quasi-static cyclic shear-tensile loads. heat-treated to cure the adhesive peak-age aluminum alloy. joint quality/integrity was assessed based on characteristic cross-sectional features hardness maps. Riveted showed notably lower static strength fatigue performance than joints. Hence, layer provided main contribution joints, whereas rivets contributed only little. However, if bonding insufficient potential capacity could not be exploited. Under loading fracture occurred at joint; therefore, high important. Even load amplitudes joint, but comparatively low rather next joint. mainly determines low-cycle fracture, sheet properties determine high-cycle fracture.

Cohesive Zone Modeling of Mode I Fracture in Adhesive Bonded Joints

This paper deals with the application of Cohesive Zone Model (CZM) concepts to study mode I fracture in adhesive bonded joints. In particular, an intrinsic piece-wise linear cohesive surface relation is used in order to model fracture in a pre-cracked bonded Double Cantilever Beam (DCB) specimen. Finite element implementation of the CZM is accomplished by means of the user element (UEL) feature...

Finite Element Modeling for Thermal Stresses Developed in Riveted and Rivet - Bonded Joints

A three-dimensional finite element modeling is developed using ABAQUS software. This includes riveted and rivet-bonded joints models. Both models undergo thermal heat caused by hot-driven rivet process and then are subjected to a constant velocity at one of its strip edges to simulate the shear tensile test up to the failure point. The developed FE models were based on elastic-plastic propertie...

Analytical Solution of Stress Field in Adhesively Bonded Composite Single-Lap Joints Under Mechanical Loadings

In this paper, considering an adhesively bonded composite single-lap joint, a novel approach is presented to predict the peel and shear stress distributions of the adhesive layer for an ASTM standard test sample. In current method, the equilibrium equations are derived using the energy method and based on the Timoshenko’s beam theory. Two solution procedures then are discussed, one of which rep...

patterns and variations in native and non-native interlanguage pragmatic rating: effects of rater training, intercultural proficiency, and self-assessment

although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...
